Creating a web site is not as easy as it used to be.  The need to attract customers to your web page means you must not only create a quality site,  but to also be aware of the importance of positioning your page in search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing through Search Engine Optimization techniques. Only that way, will your page be seen by your customers.   You can have a very nice-looking page, with quality graphics work and even entertaining content.  But, that does not matter if you do not have any traffic to your page.


Outside of the internet, if you wanted to start a business, you would most likely worry about finding an appropriate location, such as a busy street or a shopping center.  However, if you depend on your online presence, a street address, shopping center, or other location don’t really help much.   The internet works in a different way, because people go online to look for information.

These days you need to know about search results in search engines like Google and Bing to position your web site in a short period of time.   To achieve that kind of high ranking in search engine results  involves knowing the criteria that these search engines use in determining top ranks in their search results. Once a page is optimized for search engines, you will see higher ranking, which in turn draws the type of traffic that your site needs: visitors that are interested in your products or services.

Most people use the web to find information, including a large percentage who look for information on goods or services they are interested in buying.  Your web page needs to be designed to offer information on the types of services and goods you are looking for as well as where you are located, in order for people searching online will be able to find you.  If that is done properly you will have a web page that will attract clients and earn you sales, which is why, you have a website after all.
